Back at Base
After a day of driving to Shenzhen and taking a flight on a small Chinese commercial plane, I am back in Xiamen all in one piece. I thought I was gonna go down in that plane, it felt so weird and unstable. You could actually hear the plane's engines giving more power when you're dropping in altitude and also I saw the wings flapping around, it was scarry.
I think this coming to Xiamen this time is the most emotional for me. My grandpa wasn't here to see me when I came back because he past away over the summer. It was a sad atmosphere arriving home and not seeing him there to greet me, I really miss him.
Go Go Go!
After dinner with the relatives and some of the usual mah-jong, I hit the V.E. Internet Cafe with Daniel again. Last time I was there, we played with CS with Simon and Lisa too. VE had about 100 pcs all networked together and most of the players were playing CS and they weren't that great. This time when I went, 100 pcs grew to 300 pcs! And on top of that, most of the people playing CS are actually good! Damn if they were playing in the US, they'd all be considered cheaters. I think there's a lot of players who are at least as good as I am or maybe better. I think better because they use a ball mouse and they can play like I do with an optical mouse, amazing. Oh and another great thing about the internet cafe is that if you're hungry after playing 4 hours straight, you can tell one of the employees to go downstairs to the dark alley and bring you up a bowl of hot beef with noodle soup! What great service, only in China.
